Dr. F.W.L. Hamilton School is part of River East Transcona School Division in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Prior to the 1950 flooding of the Red River of the North, there was a school on the Dr. Hamilton property called Central St. Paul School. The flood closed that school, resulting in the erection of a new four-room facility – East St. Paul School – with an auditorium on the highest spot on the property. Two more rooms were added in 1953.
In 1962, the existing East St. Paul School was renamed Dr. F. W. L. Hamilton School, after a former school trustee who served the area for 15 years between 1916 and 1937. Dr. F.W.L. Hamilton was a dentist in the area. In 1976, a second addition was built that included a new office, gymnasium, library, music room and four classrooms.
The grand opening was February 10, 1977.
